NCE100 – Back in the Club!

Conisbee are delighted to confirm our place in the 2017 NCE100 Companies of the Year Awards and have been shortlisted in the Low Carbon Leader category.

Mark Hansford, editor of New Civil Engineer commented: “This year’s entries have really raised the bar and prove – if there was ever any doubt – that this industry is doing some incredible things. All 100 firms making the NCE100 have shared with us their philosophy and endeavors and proven that they are driving the industry forward, and we welcome them to the NCE100 Club.

The winners will be announced on 22 June at the Grosvenor House Hotel along with the countdown of the top 100, revealing who will be number 1 – the NCE100 Company of the Year. Fingers crossed!

MIPIM Cycling Success!

Conisbee’s Allan Dunsmore has managed to heroically complete a 1500km bike ride to Cannes! Cycling from London on Thursday, arriving in MIPIM on Tuesday afternoon after six days. Allan was 1 of just 20 people cycling the full 1500km distance, out of 160 cyclists.

Congratulations to Allan and his fellow cyclists for all their hard work!

The Legal and General Cycle to Mipim for Club Peloton has now raised an incredible £550,000 for their main beneficiary Coram. You can still donate here to support Allan’s hard work and help him reach his goal of £3,000.

‘The House That £100k Built’

Check out ‘The House That £100k Built’ on Wednesday 15th March. The challenge this week is to see how plausible it is to build a home under £50k and features a timber framed Conisbee project in East Anglia.

The programme is hosted by architect Piers Taylor and architectural journalist and critic Kieran Long who assist a family building a new house inspired by medieval timber frame homes.

Showing at 8pm on BBC Two, don’t miss it!

Ready, Set, Cycle!

And he’s off! Conisbee’s very own Allan Dunsmore has set his wheels in motion and is on his way to MIPIM. Joining over 160 fellow cycling enthusiasts, the riders departed London in the early hours of this morning on their 1500km ride to Cannes. Over the next six days the team will ride in relay format, completing at least two (of the five or six) stages every day, ranging from 40 – 60km each.

To show your support or donate to Allan’s chosen charity Coram, check out his sponsorship page or twitter @AllanDunsmore for updates and stories from the road.

Happy International Women’s Day

“Conisbee are delighted to be involved in the NLA’s Inspiring Women Campaign. For us it’s about recognising the talents of women in engineering and doing something positive to address equality across the industry. It all starts with breaking down stereotypes and reinforcing the fact that being exemplary isn’t a matter of gender. We need to further support the professional development of women and encourage them to participate fully in the industry and most importantly, as leaders; to have them aspire to reach their full potential.”
