Three Peaks Challenge
Last weekend, Conisbee’s finest climbers took part in the National Three Peaks Challenge, climbing in succession the three highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales; Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden. 17 Intrepid explores completed the mammoth 24 hour walk, fuelled on by Kendal mint cake and local ale which helped them brave the heat of the midday sun, and the bitter chill of night on the mountain face. In total 42km of horizontal distance and 3000 vertical metres were covered, burning around 10,000 calories.
Special mention goes to Conisbee’s Paul Cullen who put in an impressive performance after six long months of training. Well done all!
