Silchester Estate scheme starts on site

Conisbee are providing full structural and civil engineering services for the Silchester scheme which comprises 112 new mixed-tenure homes, a new community building and retail space in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

The site has presented a number of significant constraints including the formation of a new basement car park structure directly adjacent to a 20 storey tower which will be retained on the site and the proximity to the Victorian brick arches of the LUL Hammersmith and City Line. Detailed geotechnical analysis has had to be carried out pre-tender to prove that the new structures and basement will have no detrimental effect on the adjacent structures.

A groundbreaking event was held earlier this month on site to commemorate the start of works, more details on the Peabody website here.

Piling, drainage installation and services diversions are now well under way on site. The project is due for completion in March 2015.
